Panoramica

We really enjoyed this tour, despite the 36 degree temperatures and high humidity. Luckily, there was plenty of shade at the sanctuary. The commentary on the boat was really good: informative and amusing at the same time. The sanctuary itself has more than just koalas, although there were about 130 koalas there! Great information, some good shows, including a raptor flying show and a sheepdog demo. Wonderful for children, although we don't have any.I've given this 4 stars only because I'm gluten-intolerant and there was very little available for me. My lunch consisted of two bags of crisps (chips) and a GF biscuit. I discussed this with the staff and they told me that they don't get much demand for GF food, so they just don't find it worthwhile catering for special diets at all. So if you have any particular dietary requirements, you might want to pack a picnic lunch.

From beginning to end it was a once in a lifetime adventure! A must see down under! Such an incredible experience to hold koalas, pet and feed kangaroos and wallabies.

Loved this trip! A great combination of the river cruise and visit to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, we were given an informative talk on way on the boat pointing out things of interest etc. There was enough time to see everything at the Sanctuary and feeding the kangaroos was a highlight as well as getting up close to the koalas, we didn't have a photo with the koalas and would suggest if you do want a pic to join the queue as soon as you get of the boat as this is very popular. We would recommend this trip 100.

Excellent tour to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary - there was plenty of space on board and we enjoyed the cruise up the Brisbane river to the sanctuary on a hot day.
The sanctuary was excellent with the opportunity to see Koalas, Kangaroos, Platypus and Dingos up close. A lovely relaxing trip!

A great way to see more of Brisbane from the water and get close to australian animals! Friendly staff, digital tourguide for the cruise and you can buy drinks as the boatride can get very hot. Really recommend to book this tour online to skip the line to climb aboard the boat. Deckchairs and some stairs to climb on the boat. It was also possible to sit indoors at tables. When you arrive at the sanctuary there is a climb/stairs so if you have trouble walking it will be tough. The only thing is that did not work out for us during our trip was tickets for holding a koala. There was no chance at all to get tickets by the time you get to the sanctuary. What we understood was that you had to buy tickets really early in the morning on site. The park itself was nice and you get really close to koalas and kangaroos.

By all means take the very pleasant trip up the Brisbane River to this home of a whole lot of cute koalas. Well kept, clean, and great for kids. But for an adult there isn't really all that much there.

EXCELLENT!!!!! If you're thinking this will be something you'd like... just book!!! you won't be disappointed. Plus taking the cruise means you don't have to queue for a ticket at the other end you are taken straight to the entrance by the captain of the boat as well as having a lovely informative cruise along the river and if you're really lucky you may spot a dolphin!!! we were very lucky to have spotted THREE on our way back. A totally amazing day out. BEST DAY OF MY YEAR SO FAR. I'd never seen a Koala before in my life and I got to see so many and up close too, as well as lots of other incredible animals. JUST DO IT! you can pay on the day but I found booking online the most convenient and also guaranteed me a place on the boat. WONDERFUL! :

Wonderful trip. One thing to know - the boat leaves before some of the presentations have taken place. If you want to stay to see those, or stay longer in general, there is great bus service from the Sanctuary back to the city. Consider taking the boat one way and the bus back.
