If you have only a day as I did to visit the most popular sites at Normandy, then I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide,Marylynne hope I spelled it correctly! was absolutely the best - knowledgeable, polite, patient and encouraged questions. Our group was small, and having a driver who knew where he was going was a bonus.Being a first-timer, I could not have done this by myself in the allotted time without going nuts - this was the closest thing to a private tour I have ever experienced.

WELL worth the money.

If you are staying a Caen a couple of days, don't forget the Pegasus Bridge memorial and museum.

When you go on a guided tour, you get a lot of insight that you would not normally have received. On this particular tour, be ready for much driving, but well-chosen sights. Even on a cold, northerly wind day, with the Omaha Beach sand blowing through our teeth, it was worth it. Yes, you can take your car and drive to these places, but if you're visiting France without a car or you would simply like more information on the American sites, it's worth it. It's even fun for children and youth because of the bunkers and things to see and do. Originally wanting to see the British and Canadian sites as well, I now realize why it's better to split these into two days. There's a lot of land, and Operation Overlord covered quite a bit of territory. Special thanks to the tour guide and the driver!

This tour is incredible. What an amazing in-depth experience that really immerses yourself in the history. Our guide Mario was extremely knowledgeable, fun and answered all our questions. The beaches and cemetery were somber but fascinating to see. Lunch was yummy. Take this tour!

The tour was awesome. Our guide, Mario, did a fantastic job! He was very knowledgeable and shared with us so much history and many facts about battles that took place in the war. We were able to walk through and touch places where our brave soldiers fought and died for us and our country. I liked that our group was small only six, which made it easy tfor Mario to answer all of our questions. We were served a delicious lunch together in the middle of the tour. I would highly recommend this Tour and Mario as a guide.

We started with a tour of the Memorial. a little crowed but very impressive. The American Memorial Garden was especially nice, a water fall several benches and walking paths. Seeing Pont du Hoc was a highlight looking down that cliff and trying to imagine what those Rangers must have experienced! We we then went on to Utah and Omaha beaches then to the American Cemetery like a small Arlington.I was lucky to be there when the flags were retrieved and taps played very moving.
Our guide was very well informed, interesting, accommodating, and personable.

This was a wonderful trip organised by the Memorial Museum at Caen. Everything went very smoothly with good transport in a very comfortable and well driven, seven seater minibus. The places in the itinerary could not fail to impress, but our excellent guide, Julian, brought so much more to our understanding and enjoyment. Lunch at the Memorial Museum was very good quality - three courses with a choice, accompanied by wine, water and coffee. Having Julian sit with us gave us more time for questions. The order of the itinerary was excellent too ensuring that we had ample time at the war graves before the cemetery closed. There were six visitors and we mixed well - English, Amercian, French and Mexican. My reasons for not giving five stars are two fold. 1. We did not have access to the beach at Arromanches but looked down from the cliffs above due to time limits. 2. Full cost on a day with a later start. We went on a national holiday and the tour was 2 hours later than on a usual day - the same as Sunday tours. This was not indicated when we chose the day only a few days before the tour. We were told we could change the day at no cost, but our holiday itinerary was set by that time. If the extra time had been intended for the museum I think it would have been too long there, but had half been for the museum and half for Arromanches this would have been perfect for us. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Marylin, a native French speaker, spoke English with an impenetrable Scots brogue. Couple that with the fact that she seemed to be bored with the whole experience and concentrated for most of the tour on side details that seemed to have little relation to the invasion itself, which is what we came to see. I wouldn't recommend this particular tour guide,.

Good tour, glad i did it. Very sobering to see Pont du Hoc, the American cemetery etc. The staff met the people at the Caen train station and the van was right there, no delays. Good meal at the Caen museum. The tour guide, Laurent, was excellent and knowledgeable.
