Overall, it was a good way to see several key sights in one day. The downside was that compared to other tours we took in Italy that were maximum of 20 people, the large bus tour was of course less personal. The guides could have pointed out more sights from the bus as we were traveling. I would still recommend this to anyone who is crunched for time and wants to see all of these places in one day.
Unfortunately, the experience with this tour was not good. First of all, the guide did not get along with the people on the tour at the visited cities, and gave minimum information about what we were about to see in the cities. The guide function was all about counting people and giving time SHORT time for visiting at each city. First, we went to Pisa and it was gave 1h30min at the central square to see all the things, without any help of the guide. Second, after a 1h30min trip. we had just 20 MINUTES to stay at San Gimigniano and know all the city totally insufficient. Then there was a lunch nothing so special, and then after one more 1h trip, we stayed in Siena for no longer than one hour. when we arrived at Siena, all the touristic attraction were already closed and we were unable to enter any building or church, even the Basilica was already closed, so our experience in siena was a no more than one hour guided walking tour.
Wonderful trip and would recommend this to people of all age groups. This is the only way to cover the large terrain of Tuscany. The tour guide was great, helpful and polite. The bus took us to Pisa via Pistoria and Lucca. Good small towns with a lot of history. Stopped at Pisa for some free time. Next stop was the gorgeous San Gimignano where you can get some excellent wine and gelato. It is a walled town with high towers. Despite being an exclusive tourist place, the prices in the shops are reasonable and similar to other cities in Italy. The view from the top of the hill, overlooking the wine growing areas of Tuscany is amazing. After that we had lunch in a winery in Chianti. Wine tasting with lunch. We had vegetarian option as well. After a very relaxing lunch we headed to Sienna, the land of the palio races. This is the only place we had a local tour guide. There was also free time to explore the town. When we returned to Florence, the bus had to stop at a different place as there is construction around Santa Maria Novella Station. The tour guide and the tour company were kind to drop some of us in a mini van to the train station. Great trip.
