We were glad we signed up for this outing, rather than rent a car and do the driving ourselves. The guide and driver were thoroughly professional. The itinerary was well-planned and the stops were interesting. The ham and cheese sampling plus the lunch were very enjoyable.
Went on tour yesterday. It was raining and visibility in the mountains was poor. I am sure the views would have been stunning if we could have seen them. The main problem was the guide. Although she was friendly and helpful she gave huge amounts of information in Spanish and very little in English plus when she did eventually say something in English she spoke so fast it was very difficult to understand her. I don’t know whether the lack of English commentary was because most of other travellers were Spanish speakers. However I was expecting an English commentary as we had specified our required language when booking. The little hill villages were attractive but hopeless to explore in pouring rain. Good weather is essential for this trip!
Our trip was nothing short of brilliant, Michael was interesting and informative .Im a nervous passenger with heights I
felt perfectly comfortable and secure. We thoroughly recommend this trip. Maxine and Warren Stanley
We had a wonderful time on this full day trip, Michael was a fantastic tour guide, he was so friendly, informative, knowledgeable and helpful and everything was so well organised. The villages were wonderful and the lunch and tapas tasting were delicious, it certainly was a day to remember
In my opinion the trip was great including the punctuality of the arranged pick up time and well organised. The mini bus was comfortable and the driver was clearly an expert. Not only did he know every curve but also every bump in the road and he adjusted the speed accordingly. Best of all, the guide was very knowledgeable and gave all the information in Spanish and English. I was also very lucky with my travel companions, although this is not something one can choose. The Spanish speaking travellers were making a real effort to speak slowly and clearly to me over lunch in Spanish. So, bearing in mind that a tasting session of the regional 'jamon' and later a very plentiful, nice lunch with wine and water was included in the price, it was good value for money.
Hi. A well worthwhile trip-such a stunning area to visit-even though it was raining. Lunch was great-so much food and wine!!. The guide Angela was so helpful and knowledgeable-and the driver was so professional-not easy on some of the winding roads.
The only downside was the difficulty in booking. We booked on the internet and we got a response telling us to ring a number to find out about the time and location of the pick up-only it wasn't a valid number. Luckily the hotel receptionist did some ringing around and managed to find out for us. The mini bus was far too small and cramped-we were last on the bus and our seat was so uncomfortable-it was like a school bus-with child sized seats-by the time we got back we were in physical pain as we couldn't move our legs in the seat behind the driver-and we aren't very tall.. I would still go again-a stunning area of Andalucia.
We took the day trip through the Sierra Nevada mountains and loved it. It is a full day with us being collected from our hotel at 8.30 am and returning at about 6.30 pm but certainly well worth it. The bus winds its way up through a number of villages to Trevelez which is the highest village in mainland Spain. Each stop provided an interesting topic and the lunch was excellent. Our guide, Angela, was great and as well as being multi-lingual had a good personality. Our driver, Antonio, did a great job handling the mini-bus through the winding roads made more difficult by the bike race that was on that day.
