Great way to start our day after traveling all night. To start on the water on a hot day was perfect!!!! Great buy for the money.

Super combiné, j'ai déjà fait ces 2 excursions séparément, cette foi fois-ci je suis allée dans des endroits où je ne m'étais pas arrêtée, le beau temps en plus, c'était chouette à faire sur 2 jours.

The places that we saw were wonderful, however we didnt learn anything about them!
It was a shame that the audio portion of both tours was very poor.
Not only could we not hear them clearly on both, but there was a lack of information.
The hop on bus was especially annoying with the loud music playing most of the time. The headsets werent reliable as well.
There were many sights that we saw, that wed love to have known about, however the loud music kept blaring on without any commentary. It was a nice way to see the city, however I wouldve like to learn more about it.

The tickets must be picked up from Captain Cook Cruises office which is next to the Sealife Aquarium, 9.30am -5.30pm.We started with the HOHO Cruise from Darling Harbour Pier 26 at 9.30am. The boat was big and comfortable. There is a person announcing the stops and describing the point of interest. We stopped at Taronga Zoo and spent 6 hours there. The next day we did the HOHO Bus Tour. We were given a set of earphones and can listen to the point of interest along the way. We stopped at Australian Museum and Powerhouse Museum.
Overall, this is the best way to visit the city with limited time. Recommended!

We really enjoyed the Hop On Hop off Bus in Sydney and would recommend it highly to all who want to get an overview of this magnificent city. It allows you to pick and chose where you will spend time and concentrate on. The Hop on Hop Off Harbor Cruise is good as well but there is a city run transportation ferry system that gets you from place to place with great frequency and that was very convenient as well. You buy an Opal card, put an amount on the card and travel by using the card. I cannot say with any accuracy which would save you money but neither is expensive and all embark at the Circular Quays many piers.

We did the combined HOHO bus and ferry, figuring it would save some money. It allows you 2 days 48 consecutive hours for the ferry and 24 hours for the bus. For absolutely no logical reason that anyone could explain to us, you must use the ferry first. We were hoping to use the bus on our first day in order to get a good view of a larger area around the city. But you can't get on the bus unless you've already started you 48 hours with the ferry. I'd encourage anyone who wants to do the bus first not to purchase the combined tickets, unless you have a good plan for how you are going to use the two days with the ferry already in mind. Both the bus and the ferry tours were interesting and we did feel like we got a good overview of the Sydney area by doing both. So in that respect they were a good value. We just wish they would be more flexible in how you can use the tickets for each mode of transportation.

I was disappointed as I had purchased the 5 package deal and this was 2 of the tours that would have been included in the deal. I would not have purchased separately if I had known.

Also we were unable to use the hop on hop off bus as we were unable to find where we could get on. There was construction in the area and it was not marked where the new locations for the stops were.

To begin, Sydney, and especially Sydney over New Years, is not to be missed! Literally just wonderful!

Now, regarding the Combo Tour itself, the routes of both the harbor cruise and double decker bus were great, tho the hop on/off bus tour had some stops closed due to roads being closed for NYE, which made some transferring a bit problematic. But, not anything to do with the tour company.

There was, however, a vast difference in the quality of the tour guide commentary between the harbor tour and the bus tour. The harbor tour had a live person on all the vessels we rode, and they were all knowledgeable and genuinely informative on both historical and social issues. They delivered their commentary with good humor and were, most importantly, very intelligible...and this had nothing to do with accents or the like, but rather having a live guide who could project and a decent quality sound system, even on the top level out in the wind.

The bus tour, conversely, handed out headphones when you boarded your first bus, and there jacks at each seat, where you were supposed to be able to listen to a pre-recorded loop of information no live commentary. It was, on every bus, in a word, abysmal. The commentary was uninformative, just blathering on about size of parks and structures without offering much at all in terms of historical or social context. And this was on the rare occasion when you could even hear the commentary. Both the volume and quality of the recording, and the terrible quality of the sound system, combined to make it essentially useless. VERY DISAPPOINTING...

Very good value as we could use the pass for 2 whole days for the cruise and so could visit the Taronga Zoo and still go to Manly Beach! And the bus also allowed us a tour of the many interesting places around the city at leisure.another 2 days pass worth.
